Description

The Ultimate in high visibility weatherproof protection. 100% waterproof, windproof and reflective. The lining is an insulating, toasty lambs wool polyester fleece, which is also in the large waterproof hood, that fits over all size riding hats.

The jacket's outer fabric is 100% reflective, so when the day is dull, car headlights will bounce a reflective light off the jacket, making you stand out.

The jacket is designed to be oversized due to numerous requests we have received. The jacket will fit over anything you are wearing, including body protectors and Air Vests. The coat has strong leg straps to stop it blowing up and keeping your legs warm, dry and cosy.

The jacket completely covers the saddle and your legs.

Perfect for riding, dog walking, outdoor swimming,

Navy Oversize Storm Dry Coat - great for me, horses not keen

Lovely warm coat, it even has 4 fleece lined pockets, (2 zipped, 2 open) plus an internal pocket. The 2-way zip on the front is a must plus the two side zips are great. Other than on the quad I’ve not ridden in it yet nor has it rained since it arrived, so can’t comment on that.. The hood is large enough to fit over the riding hat but this means it’s not great if you’re not wearing one, (perhaps a drawstring could be added). It may possibly limit periphery vision for some people when riding, but as I say I’ve not ridden in it yet. Its a size Large, Im 5ft 3 and it comes to mid calf, and size 24 (all hips and boobs) and it fits me with ease and room for layers under it. It has pulls on the zips which are great if you’re wearing gloves but they are quite large so could easily be caught on something, so I may decide to take them off. The waterproof fabric on internal flap behind the zip keeps getting caught in the zip, but I have found this happens in all long coats, not just this one. In my opinion improvements could be made as It’s quite bulky and has no shape so an internal drawstring would be a good idea, zips or press studs on the open pockets as I have a habit of collecting hay or catching pockets on things. I was told it has a waterproof rating to 10,000 but would love to see an equestrian coat with a rating of 15,000 to 20,000 but I guess this would make the coat bulkier and push the price up. I’m using it as a day to day yard/riding coat and I do hope I’ll get a couple of winters out of it. So far so good, great value, but could be made perfect with a few tweaks.
2 out of 3 of my horses had eyes on stalks when they first saw it, not sure if thats because I was wearing a different colour or due to the reflective material. One was over it the next day but it took a few days with the other. Also it’s quite a noisy fabric so some horses may not like it.

Hi Claire,
Thank you for your interesting review. You point out things we are already working on, so its great to know we are on the right path.
The jackets we brought out were to see it there was a market for this type of style and there is. So we are changing the style to become a much better performance design for Autumn 2022.
