This structure allows for efficient absorption and controlled release of water for evaporative cooling. While not a biological cell, it mimics the principle of slow moisture release found in some plant cells and tissues.

Evaporative cooling:
These fabrics work by absorbing water and then releasing it slowly through evaporation, creating a cooling effect on the body.

Mimicking plant cells:
Some plant cells, like those containing vacuoles, also utilize a principle of slow moisture release. Vacuoles store water and other substances, and their controlled release can help regulate turgor pressure and other cellular functions.
